I remember as a kid I used to love making mud pies in my little kitchen and playing house. I created a toy kitchen made of felt, fabric and vinyl that can be rolled up and carried anywhere in the matching knitted bag. set with felted pots and pans and foods that can be cut into pieces. This is toy set for every adventurous kid, that’s on the going and with s spark of wild imaginations.
“A map of a child’s mind would resemble a map of Neverland, with no boundaries at all.” This quote from J.M Barrie, the creator of Peter Pan, sums up the theme of my work which is to reflect on the playfulness of everyone’s childhood memories.
The map was made from coffee dyed linen, painted over with gouache and then the beading process beginnings. Areas that would have height and textural is where I stack beads. For example, the Hangman Tree; I stacked beads to create a three-dimensional form.
