The idea for this knitwear arose from my attraction to knitwear from the 60s and 70s bold stripes. In my swatch exploration, my mission was to have a different take on stripes. I used different techniques and yarns to make the stripes more interesting. The choice of materiel was mohair which was popular among the 1960's Mod subculture.
This machine-knitted poncho was designed for toddlers with a bubbly personality. Bold colors, stripes and textures are a fresh take on 1960's and 70's knitwear for children. The light weight of the mohair and the softness of the cashmere is a great combination for active kids.
